What is floor impregnation and why it is necessary
Floor impregnation is a process that involves applying an invisible, transparent protective coating to mineral surfaces such as natural stone, concrete, and bricks. Unlike floor coatings, impregnation does not change the appearance of the surface, but instead enhances it by providing special properties and long-term protection. This can include increased wear resistance, dust reduction, and water and oil repellency, making floors more durable and easy to maintain. It is an effective way to protect and preserve the integrity of mineral floors.

Examples of application
Concrete floors in an industrial environment with heavy traffic of forklifts and/or trucks release a lot of dust due to wear. A quality floor impregnator for concrete can keep such floors intact.
Mineral surfaces such as tiles, natural stone, concrete and paving in public spaces or private areas are also prone to damage even though it is done by shoes, bicycles and the weather
An outside floor can become slippery due to grease and oil, both in public and private spaces. Not only is this dangerous, but it can only leave a permanent stain on concrete or other mineral surfaces
Mavro International’s products for floor impregnation
The Floorguard Mineral is what we call a dust binder. A surface treated with the this product will get a hard and dense top layer that is resistant to wear and is protected against the penetration of moisture, dirt and especially from releasing small particles that create dust.
Floorguard Fluor is a water-based impregnation agent based on fluorine technology. The specialty of this floor impregnator is that in addition to water-repellence it also provides verry good oil-repellent properties, making it a great choice for workshops and garages.
This is technicaly not a product for floor impregnation, because it doesn’t penetrate the surface, but it covers it with a protective layer that is highly resistant to abrasion. It is mostly used for protection of waterresistant floors in schools, public transport and other places that use floorings made of vinyl, PVC, stone, rubber cork and similar materials.
This is an effective waterborne sealer for making floors dust-free and abrasion resistant. It ensures the good maintenance of porous floors due to a pore filling effect and excellent adhesion. It is also suitable for use as a primer layer for polymer based floor waxes such as the above mentioned Floorguard Polycryl.

Yes, Floorguard Mineral is designed for the protection of untreated concrete floors in workplaces and warehouses. It is important that the substrate is in good condition, and no other treatment is present.
In principle, Floorguard Polycryl can be applied over most standard floor waxes. However, for best results, we recommend removing the existing protection with Multistrip and then building up the protection with Floorguard polycryl only.
Mavro’s fluoropolymer-based products are based on C6 technology that degrades faster in the environment and contains no harmful substances.
