Stainless steel is a versatile and durable material that is commonly used in a wide range of settings, including homes, public spaces, and industrial environments.
Due to its resistance to corrosion and staining, stainless steel has become a popular choice for a wide range of applications in the home (for: kitchen appliances, sinks, countertops, etc.) but – more importantly – it is an important material in industrial environments and public spaces.
While stainless steel, or inox, is durable and thus a verry appropriate material to be used in spaces that get a lot of foot traffic, like sanitary and other spaces, elevators in bus and train stations, hospitals, subway hallways and escalators, etc., it has one flaw: the signs of fingerprints, footsteps, grease residue and streaks tend to show quite prominently on its surface.
That is unfortunate, because it can appear dirty and neglected quite quickly. This is why Mavro International has developed a product range dedicated specially to stainless steel maintenance.

Over the years we had opportunities to cooperate with bigger clients and contractors that deal with the maintenance of stainless steel surfaces in public spaces. We perfected our line stainless steel protection range of products in such a way that the products work in concert with each other.
Maintenance of stainless steel works in phases
Especially when we deal with heavy populated spaces (even though it will not hurt if we apply this method in our household as well) we must divide the maintenance of inox in phases:
Stainless steel first need to be thoroughly cleaned and completely fingerprints and streaks free, this process is divided in two parts:
Inox pre-cleaning with a dedicated detergent Thorough degreasing of inox with a product specially developed for the task
Then comes the application of the coating for inox, which is the main part of protection and maintenance of stainless steel overall
After the coating application it is important that the stainless steel surface is regularly cleaned with a specific product that cleans the inox surface without damaging the stainless steel protection.
Even though the protective coating lasts a long time, we do want to remove it after it starts to wear out. And Mavro International developed a specifical product for that too. Removal of the stainless steel coating becomes easy and fast. After it is finished, we can start the process all over again.
Never use abrasive materials
It is worth mentioning that during all processes described above we should be careful not to use any abrasive materials whatsoever. So, no steel wool or scouring pads should be used at any point, because that can leave permanent scratches or other imperfections on the surface, like areas of reduced glow or satin.
Additionally protect stainless steel from physical and chemical factors
Even if you use Mavro International’s high-quality stainless steel maintenance products there are mechanical factors which can damage the surface and no coating can prevent; for example deliberate scratching with hard metal objects like keys and nails or banging on the surface with metal parts of a bicycle, etc. If you want to prevent these kinds of damage, you should physically prevent access to the immediate vicinity of the surface.
Additionally, it is important to avoid exposing stainless steel to harsh chemicals, such as chlorine or sulfuric acid, as these can cause permanent damage to the surface.
