1251 \u00e8 entrata in servizio con le ferrovie olandesi nel 1952, dopo essere stata costruita su progetto americano e come parte degli aiuti Marshall ai Paesi Bassi dopo la seconda guerra mondiale. Alla NS la locomotiva ha prestato servizio fino al 1998. La locomotiva \u00e8 stata utilizzata da NS per treni passeggeri lunghi e per il trasporto di treni merci.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Nel 1998, NS ha smaltito la locomotiva al deposito di rottami. Grazie all&#8217;intervento di un avvocato, il primo concorrente di NS, ACTS Nederland B.V., che aveva bisogno di locomotive per avviare la propria attivit\u00e0, riusc\u00ec ad avere accesso alla locomotiva. Presso ACTS, la locomotiva \u00e8 stata utilizzata principalmente per trainare treni container fino a 2.500 tonnellate e 700 metri di lunghezza. Intorno al 2008, la 1251 \u00e8 rimasta nuovamente senza lavoro. A partire dall&#8217;estate 2010, la locomotiva \u00e8 stata utilizzata soprattutto per i treni delle vacanze e per le cene da Amsterdam.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Dal dicembre 2017, la locomotiva \u00e8 stata noleggiata all&#8217;operatore ferroviario Railexperts, che la utilizza per trainare treni charter, treni per le vacanze e ogni altro tipo di trasporto ferroviario.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La locomotiva \u00e8 stata pulita e sgrassata con Uniclean Low Foaming e Isopropanolo. \u00c8 stata poi rivestita con il rivestimento di restauro conservativo permanente Nitocoat.
