1251 entr\u00f3 en servicio en los Ferrocarriles Holandeses en 1952, despu\u00e9s de que la locomotora se construyera de nuevo seg\u00fan un dise\u00f1o estadounidense y como parte de la ayuda Marshall a los Pa\u00edses Bajos tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En la NS la locomotora prest\u00f3 servicio hasta 1998. La locomotora fue utilizada por la NS para trenes largos (er) de pasajeros y para el transporte de trenes de mercanc\u00edas.<\/p><p>En 1998, la locomotora fue transportada por la NS al desguace. La primera competidora de la NS, ACTS Nederland B.V., que necesitaba locomotoras para poner en marcha su negocio, pudo acceder a la locomotora gracias a la intervenci\u00f3n de un abogado. En ACTS la locomotora se utiliz\u00f3 principalmente para remolcar trenes de contenedores de hasta 2500 toneladas de peso y 700 metros de longitud. Alrededor de 1251 volvi\u00f3 a quedarse sin trabajo. A partir del verano de 2010, la locomotora se pod\u00eda encontrar principalmente para trenes de vacaciones y viajes con cena desde \u00c1msterdam.<\/p><p>Desde diciembre de 2017, la locomotora est\u00e1 alquilada al operador ferroviario Railexperts, que la utiliza para tirar de trenes ch\u00e1rter, trenes de vacaciones y todo tipo de transportes ferroviarios.<\/p><p>La locomotora se limpia y desengrasa con Uniclean de baja espuma e isopropanol. A continuaci\u00f3n, se le aplica el revestimiento de renovaci\u00f3n conservante permanente Nitocoat.
